Service Details
Shirley Stewart, 62, was born in Atmore, Alabama on September 3, 1947. She passed away Saturday, July 24, 2010 at Florida Hospital in Orlando as a result of cardiac arrest. She was surrounded by her loving family. Her body has been cremated.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with a Celebration of Life Service at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 14, 2010 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street.
Shirley was employed at Whitfield & Eddy Law Firm where she had many different job titles in the 12 years she worked there. She loved to play golf and spend time with her family, her dogs and her many friends.
Shirley is survived by her son, Chad; grandson, Colt Stewart; sister, Rita (Tim) Lynch, all of Norwalk; brothers, Norm (Dee) Singleton of Overland Park, KS, Wendell and Frank Singleton of Des Moines and Tom (Reahnna) Singleton of Indianola; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clark and Bea Singleton and her dog, Skeeter.
Shirley will be greatly missed by all her family, extended family and friends.

You couldn't help but love Shirley, she was special, and made you feel special too. Her energy and smile were contagious. She lived her life to the fullest, and all of us are better for having known her.

It sadden me to know I didn't get a chance to talk to or give Shirley a big Hug at the airport, that she didn't know I had arrive to pick her up. I will always remember seeing her at the baggage claim waiting for her luggage. I am so sorry I didn't get to her sooner. I will never forget our trip to Nashville TN, I don't think I have laughed so much as we did that weekend. Shirley you will be truely missed. I pray your grandson will alway have great memories and that Chad and the rest of the family will have the strenght to get throug this. It will get easier but will take time.

Iam saddened and shocked to hear of Shirleys passing. She was such a great and fun person. We shared so many good times years ago with the Evys Clan. My prayers go out to Chad, her grandson and her entire family. I feel like my life was better to have had Shirley in it.

I always enjoyed visiting with Shirley. Her smile was infectious. I feel for all of you in the loss of your Mom, Grandmother, sister, Aunts, and many, many friends. She truly was an angel in the way she lived her life. She truly will be missed by many.

I just loved Shirley. She was always fun to be around, she had a great smile on her face and saw the good in things. Her face always lit up when asked about her grandson. She loved her son and all her family deeply. She will be missed greatly.

Shirley's courthouse "family" will certainly miss her beautiful smile and friendly personality. Shirley never walked through my door without stopping in my office to make me smile. She was truly a gift and please take comfort in knowing that she is one of His angels! You will be in my thoughts and prayers.
