Betty Cook

Betty D. Cook, 89, passed away with her family present at the Parkridge Home in Pleasant Hill at 3:15 in the afternoon on July 20, 2010.

She was born to Lou and Ida Lawyer on the first day of 1921 in Cleveland, Ohio. Betty’s fondest memories were of her childhood growing up in Southern Missouri with her three siblings, Glenn, Sonja and Larry.

Betty went on to become a homemaker and chef later on in life. Betty always carried an open heart with her and was very kind. She loved nothing more than helping a friend that was in need.

Betty was married twice and was the proud mother of six children, Yvonne Dillon, Barbara Fees, Sonny House, Pamela Hodges, Ida Lemon and Rusty Cook. She also enjoyed her ten grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 12 until 2 p.m. Friday, July 23, 2010 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street followed by a graveside service at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
