Service Details
Jackie Mars, 53, went home to the Lord on July 20, 2010 after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Services will be held at Valley Evangelical Free Church, 4343 Fuller Road, West Des Moines, IA. Visitation will be on Friday, July 23 from 6 to 8 p.m. and the funeral on Saturday, July 24 at 11:00 a.m.
Jackie is survived by her husband Jim; son, Dustin (Ann) Mars; daughter, Missy (Travis) Parton; 8 grandchildren; brother, John Johnson; sisters, Janet Stock, Janel (Charlie) Newman, and Joan (Delmar) Nelson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Pansa Johnson and her daughter Holly.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Airo Project www.airoproject.org, Valley Evangelical Free Church or the John Stoddard Cancer Center. Online condolences may be made at www.HamiltonsFuneralHome.com.

Jim, Sorry to hear about your wife. She must of been a great woman. I know I did not know her, but I wanted to express my condolences to you and your family. Milly Wright was my mother from Polk City. Take care and God bless.

Mars Family~
I am honored to have known Jackie through the Y. Her battle with cancer was extremely courageous, brave and relentless. I can only imagine how she lived the rest of her life...as I knew her for a short time. Your family will remain in my prayers as you begin to heal. I am looking forward to seeing the rest of you at the HLC again soon!

Jim, Dustin and Missy, I am saddened to hear of Jackie's death. She has been such a good friend to me for over 30 years. I remember meeting her back at First Federated Church and becoming instant friends. I will always cherish her friendship and my memories of her. Please know that my prayers are with you all.
