April Lee Ann Robinson, 49, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at Bright Kavanagh House in Des Moines. Visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SW in Altoona.
April was born June 7, 1961 to Jo Ann and Luther Robinson in Des Moines. She worked many years at the downtown Younkers, but most recently managed a retail store. She loved and was very faithful about making and sending greeting cards. She was famous for her chocolate chip cookies and sausage balls; loved to do latch hook; was crazy about her stuffed doll that she named Rags, and also her father’s dog, Purp.
April is survived by her siblings: Susan (Fred) Fredregill, Honey (Lester) Grosc, Paul (Martha) Robinson, Jo (Benny) Thannikkotu, Autumn (Ron) McGrean, and January (James) Kim; her fiancé: Bill Bishop; and many nieces, nephews, and other loving family members. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Wilma Coiner.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bright Kavanagh House in loving memory of April.

April was on my team at CASS and she will be truely missed. I enjoyed the time I had with her and she had lots of frineds here. She always had something nice to say about everyone and this is one of the reasons she did have so many friends. She got to work down in our clothing store, in fact she pretty much was running it. She enjoyed it so much and she said it brought back memories of when she worked at Younkers. You have my condolences and I'm so sorry for you loss.

I am deeply saddened by April's untimely death. The year that I knew April I saw so many wonderful changes in her and she was becoming the woman that she wanted to be. I will miss her
