Jackie Fry

Jackie Jean Fry passed away July 11, 2010, at the Taylor House after a brave battle against cancer. She was surrounded by family and her dear friend Del Lenschow.

Jackie was born on February 19, 1956, in Klamath Falls, Oregon. She lived much of her life in Central Iowa. Most recently, she made her home in Des Moines.

Jackie enjoyed life to its fullest, sharing her humor and “lots of love” with a circle of friends and family. She enjoyed travel, flower gardening and shopping. Most of all, she treasured the time spent with her grandchildren.

Jackie is survived by daughter Kelly Williamson of Des Moines (son Carson); daughter Lindsay Herting (Aaron) of Altoona (children Ella and Chase); son Merlen Fry II of Altoona; and sister Mary Jo (Ron) Clark of Colfax.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents Bonnie Richards and Jack Lloyd.

A celebration of life is scheduled to take place on Thursday, July 15, at 1 p.m. at Haines Park in Altoona, located at the corner of 6th Street Place SE and 3rd Avenue SE.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Iowa Health Hospice.
