Lisa Ann Meadows, 47, died July 10, 2010 after a life long struggle with diabetes.
Lisa was born April 16, 1963 in Indianola and was raised by her parents, Roger and Dee Covault. She graduated from Lincoln High School and then began her 29 years career with Principal Financial Group.
Lisa was a gentle, easy going, kind person who valued her time with husband and daughter. She enjoyed coffee shops, clothes, and smelling pretty. Lisa was unique in her style and caring for others. She was someone who believed friendships should be simple, intimate, and life long.
Lisa is survived by her husband of 24 years, Jeff Meadows; daughter, Ariella (Andy) Miesner; father, Roger (Dee) Covault; mother, Joann Calloway; siblings, Scott Covault, Kirk Hoffman, and Chris Blevins; sister-in-law, Lisa (Jim) Mills; and a host of other family and beloved friends. She was preceded in death by her step-brother, Steve Blevins.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Thursday, July 15, 2010 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street, followed by burial at Avon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

I just heard of Lisa's passing. I was a co-worker for a few years before leaving Principal in 2008. I loved Lisa and have often thought of her over the past few years. I wish I would have heard in time to come and pay my respects. Please know that my thoughts are with you all right now and that Lisa was truly loved and appreciated by her friends and co-workers at Principal. Lisa is someone I will never forget.

I worked with Lisa many years ago at Principal, in the HR Benefits department. She was always up for a good laugh, great to work with, and just fun to be around. She will be missed by all. Rest in Peace, Beth

For so many years prior to and following my retirement, Lisa was always one of the most helpful individuals that ever assisted my Bankers Life / Principal Life agency in Arlington Heights, Illinois.
Whenever we had questions, Lisa was always the sweet "go to" person that always assisted us and had such a wonderful ability to make you feel SPECIAL.
What a sad day for all of us to learn of her passing.
My condolences to her family and to all those at the Principal Financial Group that had the pleasure to work with her.
She was an asset to all that had the wonderful experience of knowing her, and whose kindness, unselfishness, and smiling personality this world will sorely miss.
