Arnie Short

Arnold “Arnie” Short, 49, passed away July 9, 2010 at his home. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at Laurel Hill Cemetery.

Arnie worked for the Des Moines Register from 1984 until his retirement in 2008. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. Arnie also enjoyed fishing and was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates and Iowa Hawkeyes fan.

Arnie is survived by wife, Debbie; children, Brandi (Josh) Weber, William Short and Samantha Short; brother, Edward (Marge) Short; sister, Patricia (Mike) Teply; grandchildren, McKenzi Short, Ryan Short, Joshua Weber II and Immagin Hayden-Wood; uncle, Jim Gibson; aunt, Karelyn Baker; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ruth “Margaret” Short.
