Mildred Virden

Mildred V. Virden, 90, died June 22, 2010 at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, June 28, 2010 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, with burial at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

She is survived by her four sons, John, Jerry (Sharon), Herman (Norma), Virgil (Nancy) Virden; 11 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. John F. Virden; one grandson, Gary; and four sisters.

Mildred and her husband were pastors of Sheltering Rock Church for over 50 years which was located at SE 8th and Allen.
