Victoria Sprouse
June 21, 2010
Victoria Lou Sprouse, 64, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 21, 2010 at her home. A funeral service will be held 12 p.m. Friday, June 25, 2010 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th St., with burial at Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Victoria was born on May 15, 1946 in Des Moines, IA to Melvin and Darlene Hardenbrook. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1964 and went to work for Meredith Corporation. She left Meredith for a short time to care for her family in Kansas City. Upon returning to Iowa, she settled with her three kids in Carlisle and rejoined Meredith where she worked until she retired in 2000. Upon retirement, she worked at the
Carlisle High School Kitchen where she loved every minute of washing those dishes ... she was determined to work there this fall.
Victoria enjoyed life to its fullest no matter what was thrown at her. She was feisty, lovable and always wearing a smile. Despite battling health issues over the last 5 years, she never lost her spirit! She even traveled last summer to Scotland with her family for her daughter's wedding. She was loved by everyone who knew her. She loved her three children, grandchildren, sisters, brothers, cousins, nieces, nephews and all of her friends!
She is survived by her children, Christopher of Carlisle, Jessica and Keith (Kinloch) of Denver, CO, and Jennifer of Key West, FL; grandchildren, Emma and Kelsi of Carlisle; sisters, Sharon (Audley) Conrath and Sally (Wendell) Piper; brothers, Melvin (Kenna), Michael and Pat; and numerous nieces, nephews, and beloved friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to any charity of your choice, in loving memory of Victoria.

Though we didn't know Vicki very well, we always could tell that her amazing kids got their kindness, humor, spirit, and intelligence from her. You will be in our thoughts during this time. We know your mom's wonderful family and friends will miss her dearly.
Love,
