Floyd Russell, 42, was born October 28, 1967 in Des Moines, Iowa and he died June 19, 2010 in Des Moines, Iowa.
Funeral Services will be 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at Hamilton Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street, Des Moines. Friends are invited to visit with family starting at 10 am Tuesday until service time at the funeral home.
Floyd Eugene Russell was born on October 28, 1967 to Janice (Stevens) and Donald Russell. He went home to be with the Lord on Saturday June 19, 2010, at the age of 42. He lived in Des Moines his entire life. Floyd enjoyed fishing, watching fireworks, and watching movies. He liked listening to music, his favorite was Ozzy Osbourne. He enjoyed helping others and was always there to lend a hand. Floyd had a taste for adventure and fun. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family.
Floyd was preceded in death by his father Donald Russell; grandparents Henry and Hazel Russell, and Floyd and Erma Stevens and sister Crystal Webb. He is survived by his mother Janice Webb and step-father Morgan Webb; sisters Connie Breuklander (Gary Polles), Tonya (Christopher) Osman, Stacey (Melvin) Dalton; brothers Morgan and Benjamin Webb; step-brother
Robert Templeton; son Devin Canty; 5 nieces, 8 nephews, 5 great nieces and nephews; aunts; uncles; cousins and many friends.
Contributions may be made to the family to help pay funeral cost in loving memory of Floyd.

I always wanted a brother floyd......but i never knew I would also be getting a friend. I have loved you from day one and will love you for all eternity. I am truely blessed by having you for the time i did. The memories we made will forever burn in my mind. The love we shared will forever burn in my heart....I LOVE YOU MY LIL BROTHER !!!! Take shelter in His loving grace and send some of that Angel protection down our way........P.S. wrap your arms around Dad and tell him i miss him and love him....thanks Floyd your the best !!! floyd you hung in there for so long an help family an friends ,an now god called you home an now he takin all that was an gave you forever life in his kingdom one day we will all be with you again,and I will pray for all your friends an loved ones you left behind including me.thanks for being a good friend i will miss you your laugh an the goodtimes we all spent 18 yrs. ago .

I'm so sorry my prayers and thoughts are with all of you as this hard time is upon your family. He will definitely be missed. I may have only been little when I met him but he was an awesome person. He had a very good heart and was always thoughtful. Sorry yet again and I hope you guys celebrate his life and I know that you will also grieve. I just am so sorry this day had to come for your family.

I was never allowed much time with this side of my family after my parents died but i do fell sad to not of know this side of my family. My dad was Melvin Parsons and my mother was Mary Lou Majors both of my parents died at such a young age. My Uncle was Chuck Russell. RIP floyd you will truly be missed I will never forget all the good times we had when we were younger like riding motorcycles at grandma and grandpa Stevens and I believe we gave dud and aunt janice most of there gray hair. I will miss you greatly cousin love you always.
