Evelyn R. Easter

Evelyn Easter, 82, was born April 15, 1928 in Polk City, Iowa to Edwin and Bertha Lint. She passed away Friday, June 18, 2010 in Des Moines, Iowa with her children by her side.

In 1970 Evelyn opened Evelyn’s Beauty Salon in Highland Park, where she was owner and operator. In 1985, she opened Hair Inc. with her daughter, Kathe, where they worked side by side. She continued working until illness preventing her from the work she loved so dearly.

Evelyn is survived by her children, Rick (Janet) Easter, Janice (Chuck) Burns, and Kathe (Bob) Fosnaugh; her grandchildren, Amy Beam, Stacey Sanger, Ryan Easter and Valarie Short; and her great grandchildren, Amber, Ashley, Quincy, Jake Khloe and Abbey. Evelyn is also survived by her brothers, Marvin and Mel Lint of Polk City, Iowa and her sister, Marcella Kochheiser of Ankeny, Iowa. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Louise Houser of Polk City and her husband, Richard “Dick” Easter.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, with burial to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit with family from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home.
