Connie Luna

Connie Luna, 66, passed away June 14, 2010 at Bright Kavanagh House.

Connie was born February 27, 1944 in Des Moines to John and Angela Luna. She was a lifelong Des Moines resident. Connie worked at Tiny Tot Daycare and retired from the D.A.V. Thriftstore in 1991. She enjoyed arts & crafts and outings with her children and grandchildren, especially carnivals and Prairie Meadows.

Connie is survived by her children, Robert Martin and Garviela Simons; brothers, John II, Richard, Roman, Charles, Joe, Tony, Ramon and Robert; sisters, Mary and Rachel; grandchildren, Gloria, David, Angela and Sara Simons and Alec and Andrew Martin; and great-grandchildren, David III and Kylie. She was preceded in death by her husband Luke Martin and daughter, Antonia Pryor.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 18, 2010 at Visitation Catholic Church, 1275 E. 9th Street, followed by burial at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday with a 7 p.m. Vigil Service at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street.
