Service Details
David E. Prince, 68, died Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at his home from complications of leukemia. Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Monday, June 14, 2010 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. A private family burial will occur at a later date. Visitation will be held 4-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
David was born April 2, 1942 in Des Moines. He served in the Air Force and owned HVAC service company for many years. He enjoyed his Bass Masters Fishing Club, cars, animals, and spending time with his family.
David is survived by his former wife, Debbie; sons, Mike, Daniel, and Scott (Nikki) Prince; step-daughter, Jenniffer (Tony) Prince; 17 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Alan (Linda) Prince; sisters, Janet (Bill) Bolton and Sally Prince; and a host of nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.
He was preceded in death by his previous wives, Ann and Cherilyn; parents; and daughter.
Memorial contributions will be received by the family.

I am Dave's granddaughter. I love you and I miss you Grandpa. I remember when we would go camping and Mom would scold you cause you'd let me get into the blueberries and I would stain all my clothes! We had so much fun Grandpa and I cant wait to see you again so we can go pick more bluberries! I hope they have casinos in heaven grandpa! haha! Love you Grandpa! Thank you to everyone for all your thoughts and prayers.

I love you and I miss you Grandpa! Remember the day you took me to school and almost dropped me off at the wrong school! haha, that was funny. Hope you will be waiting for me when it's my turn to come an I will be here waiting to see you again when my time comes. Then we can all go fishing! Rest easy Grandpa, we are all going to take care of Grandma for you. She misses you an loves you too Grandpa. To the rest of my family I love you all and our love for Grandpa will pull us through this. Rest in Peace Grandpa.

To the Prince family. I did not get to know Dave well but he was very nice to me. I went to help clean house for him the weekend before he died and he could'nt stop thanking all of us. I felt good helping him out and I am glad I was able to help him. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you.

I was lucky and blessed enough to be Dave's daughter for almost 27 years. He was a wonderful man and on June 8th, 2010 the world lost one of the last truely good men it had. He did'nt have to be my Dad but he chose to be and he was the most wonderful Dad I could have ever asked for. My heart goes out to my brothers and their partners and all of my nieces and nephews. We lost the rock that held our family steady. But no worries, He's fishing his heart out now. Hope he saves some for us to catch when we get there to join him. I love you Dad and I hope and pray you know that. Your grandkids love and miss you Grandpa and they hope you are resting peacefully and smiling big.
