Marvin Ellis Williams, 77, of Mulberry Street, Shallotte, NC died Tuesday, June 8, 2010 in the Autumn Care Nursing Center.
Mr. Williams was born July 22, 1932 in Douglas County, MO to the late Ellis Shelton and Vera Huffman Williams. He worked as a service manager for WILMAR. Mr. Williams was a member of the National Guard.
Surviving are his four sons John Marvin Williams, wife Glenda, of Kernersville, NC, Larry Harold Williams, wife Emily, of Lynchburg, VA, William "Bill" Vincent Williams, wife Kim, of Greenfield, IA, Anthony "Tony" Scott Williams, wife Kristy, of Adel, IA; two daughters Jean Lauraine Jackson, husband Lacy, of Shallotte, NC, Susan Rose Lampinen, husband Rick, of Orland Park, IL; a step-son Thomas Taylor, Jr., wife Kristi, of Brainerd, MN; a step-daughter Sherry Taylor Gibbons, Indianapolis, IN; a sister Bonnie Williams Simpson, and husband, Roger, of Faribault, MN; twenty-four grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1:00 pm Saturday, June 12, 2010 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. in Des Moines. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service; and burial will be at Glendale Cemetery.

I would like to express my sympathies on Marvin's passing. I remember visiting Maizzie and Marv when they lived in Des Moines years ago with my mom, Joyce and grandma Marjorie Strauss. It was fun playing with their dog, a poodle, who was fun.
