Mary Ellen (Titus) Davitt, 85, was born November 1, 1924 In Des Moines, the daughter of Harry and Gladys (Reese) Stewart. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Saturday, June 5, 2010 at Bright Kavanagh House.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Betty (Kenny Sr.) Miller; her sons, Richard (Lola) Titus Sr., Robert (Jill) Titus and David (Marilyn) Titus; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Everett Titus and Aaron Davitt and her grandson, Kenny Miller, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, with burial to follow at Berwick Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

I am sorry for the loss of your loved one. Please accept my condolences. At times like this, I always reflect on the comfort and hope found in the bible. It is comforting to know that God is there for us when we are saddened and hurt. Psalm 34:18 tells us that he is near to those broken at heart and those crushed in spirit he saves. He promises one day that .he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away. (Revelation 21:3,4) I look forward to the day when death will be no more and we will no longer experience the pain and suffering that it brings. Until that time, I encourage you to put hope in the thought at scriptures such as John 5:28,29 and 1Thessalonians 4:13,14. They tell us that there will be a resurrection. This gives us the opportunity to be reunited with our dead loved ones. I truly believe this because Hebrews 6:18 tell us .it is impossible for God to lie. Please review these scriptures in your own copy of the bible. May they bring you the same comfort and hope that I have.
