Donn Brent Jones, 53, of Des Moines, died on June 1, 2010 at his residence. He was born on May 28, 1957 in Des Moines. He worked as a Civil Engineer for Bishop Engineering for 32 years.
He is survived by his mother, Jo Ann (Sherwood) Hollobaugh; brother, Jon (Kelli); his niece Jadi Jones.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 5th at 1:00 pm at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home with visiting with the family from 11:00-1:00 pm.

This is a really sad day, and a great loss to all who knew Brent, may the Lord give you Aunt Jo Ann and Jon courage and strength to keep you going through this tough time. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

I just got the news, I don't even know who I am writing this too. I wish like hell I could have made the service. Jon if this is going to you, I wish I could have been there for you today. It's been too many years since I have seen either one of you. I will miss your brother, he was one of the best people in the old 'hood. Rick Lang

Joann and Jon -
Although the situation today was not as I would have wished, I was so happy to see the both of you.
I often thought of Brent and Jon through the years. Especially since Don died, but since our family has never been known as being close, I (unfortunately) didn't try to make contact.
Joann, I grieve for you. I know that I don't know what it feels like to lose a child, but I can imagine. I hope you heal and your heart ache ends. I know you will never forget, I jst hope the pain lessens for you.

Jon - If you need one more Aunt, I'd love to hear from you also. If your interested in your Dad's side of the family, maybe I can help you.

I miss you. I remember the pool games and the trick shots. Thank you for having the patience to teach me the game of chess and just being there. I am glad that we had our numerous phone conversations and jokes back and forth.
The trip to Louisiana is a great memory for me as well. I remember walking into McDonalds in Mississippi and I made a comment about the color of the people working there. (I was stupid then, what can I say) You put your hand over my mouth and walked me right out of there.
I remember the deer hanging in Aunt Jody's garage from one of your bow hunts. Oh that thing looked awful. But it was so soft.
I remember when we were moving Nanny to Arizona and when I got in your truck we hadn't even gone 2 blocks and you looked at me and said "Sis, your having a baby again aren't you? Mom and Dad didn't even know. I hadn't told anyone, but you knew. We went to dinner with Aunt Bee and Nanny and my folks and You kept nudging me saying "Better eat up, your eating for two."
You and my son CJ would have gotten along very well. It's funny sort of, he reminds me a lot of you and your brother. He loves to hunt and fish and hike and working on engines. He loves to be outdoors.
I would give anything for just one more phone call or one more joke. I love and miss you Cuz.
My thoughts and prayers are with you Aunt Jody and Jon Drew.
