Ada L. Diefenderfer

Ada L. Diefenderfer, 91, of Johnston, died on May 29, 2010 at Bright Kavanagh House.

She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on September 18, 1918, the daughter of Harry and Ada (Clarkson) Snowden.

Ada married Robert H. Diefenderfer on February 15, 1941. Following Robert’s service in the U.S. Navy, they made their home in Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania for 40 years. In 1983, Ada moved to Johnston.

Ada is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Steven) Zorn; grandson, David Zorn; nieces, nephews, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Harry and husband, Robert.

A visitation is planned for Friday, June 11, 2010 at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Pastor Fred Obold, nephew of Ada, will lead a Service of Remembrance at 5:30 p.m.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Johnston Public Library Foundation or to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa.
