Howard Smidt

Howard joined his parents in Heaven on May 29, 2010.

A memorial visitation will be held Thursday, June 3, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Central Iowa.

Howard was born June 7, 1944 in Forrest City, Iowa the son of Minnie and Darius Smidt.

He is survived by his daughter, Kim (Mike) Hughes and two-stepgrandchildren, Kayla and Dylan Hughes; three brothers, Russell, Raymond and Ronnie Smidt; sister, Sharon Levenhagen and many nieces and nephews.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents.

Howard loved spending time with his daughter and son-in-law. He also loved camping, fishing, mushroom hunting and working outdoors. He was always helping his friends and neighbors.

Howard was greatly loved and will be sorely missed.
