Service Details
Arthur Eugene Varnado, 38, passed away May 20, 2010 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, May 24, 2010 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.
Gene was born in Des Moines January 22, 1972 to Lloyd and Carol Varnado. He enjoyed riding his bicycle and listening to country music.
Gene is survived by his mother, Carol Varnado; siblings, Michael Varnado, Sherry Dunn, Melinda Lane, Keith Varnado, Chris (Tracey) Varnado and John Kokke; nieces, Marie and Melinda Sue Dominquez and Andrea and Cassandra Mikesell; and his nephews, Michael and Shawn Lane, Jesse Howard and Ricky Wolfe. He was preceded in death by his nephew, William Lane; father, Lloyd Varnado; aunt, Colleen Meggison; grandmother, Effie Blackburn; and grandfather, Arthur Knause.

I would like to let you all know, that your family has been and will continue to be in my daily thoughts and prayers. I wish i could be there with you during this time of grief. Gene was a awesome guy with a way to make you laugh like no one else. He will be greatly missed, but remember Gene does not have to worry about anything anymore and William and him will be watching over all of you.
