Jane Haider, 66, passed away May 14, 2010 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center from injuries sustained in a tragic accident.
Jane was born December 4, 1943 in St. Joseph, MO to Stephen George and Iola Matilda Dowden LaMar. She graduated with a degree in music from North West Missouri State University. Jane taught music in Osceola, IA, Hamilton, IL and Des Moines, IA. Currently she was the instrumental music teacher at St. Joseph Catholic School. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. Jane had a passion for music, she loved singing, playing the piano and directing the church choir.
Jane is survived by her husband of 40 years, Reverend Cliff; sons, Stephen LaMar Haider and Dr. Clifton Robert Haider and his wife, Dr. Cristina Miranda Correia; and her sisters, Marilyn (Gordon) Robertson of Shawnee, KS and Judy (Mick) Thompson of Exira, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 29, 2010 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. The family will greet friends following the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to United Methodist Church Board of Camps Development Fund.

Dear Cliff, Stephen and Clifton,
I was deeply saddened to read of Jane's accident and passing in the Humeston New Era. I have many fond memories of Jane and your family as I was growing up, when I had Clifton in my second grade class at Weldon, of your advice and support when I got married and when our family experienced losses. Jane was an amazing and talented lady. When I became reacquainted with your family in my adult years, I marveled at her energy, enthusiasm and joy in everything she did. She was able to effortlessly handle "doing it all" - being a mother, wife, teacher, friend, musician, singer and member of the church. Jane will be deeply missed by everyone whose life she touched. My deepest sympathy to all of you. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

My sincere sympathy to the Haider and the Lamar family.
I went to school with Jane for 12 years, and we grew up together in her home town. I had always liked Jane and she was always a very smart person. As we became dating age etc. she had always conveyed that someday she was going to marry a minister and she had her goal set. Over the years we have lost touch of each other. We were good friends of her parents and sang in the choir together at Elmo Methodist Church.
May God touch your hearts as your family and Janes go through the tragic time in your life. Peace be with you and strength during your loss.
To Judy, Barbara, Marilyn and Dixie my prayers for you. You have lost a very
special person. Judy thank you for taking the time to return my phone call of last week, I know it was difficult to have lost such a beautiful person as Jane was. With the great spiritual family you always had with Stephen and Iola you will find peace.

Words cannot begin to express how sorry we are about your loss of Jane. You have been a source of strength for us many times through the years, Cliff, and I pray that you, Stephen, Clifton & Cristina can feel the love and support of the many friends you have. I have no doubt that she was welcomed into heaven leading the choirs of angels! You will all remain in our hearts and our prayers.

We are sending our 'Deepest Sympathy' to the entire family.
I remember Jane as a darling little grade school child. Jane's mother and father were my favorite teachers at Old BJ High. Jane and Ronnie Yates graduated highs school together at West Nodaway.
The LaMar family has always held a special place in our hearts.
We have you all in our 'Thoughts and Prayers'.

I was a classmate of Jane's for 12 years at Elmo HS and and for a semester, a fellow music major at Maryville. Even though I haven't seen or talked with Jane since 1962, I remember her good sense of humor. I am sure sorry to hear about the accident that took her life. Rex Weland Chattanooga, Tn.

Cliff, Steve, Clifton & Christina, We are so very sad for how your hearts must be aching at this time. Cliff, you were there for us when we needed you and we are so sorry we can not be there for you. May God bring that special person to help you at this time as he brought you to us. Jane was so full of life and fun. There will be more music and singing in heaven now. We were deeply saddened to learn of Jane's passing via the Des Moines Register online. Many many memories but especially how she encouraged our sons Mike and Brian to sing at church in Humeston. They still talk about that and I have saved the card where she typed the words so they would feel comfortable(just in case they forgot the words!)I enjoyed her friendship at church as well as our sorority group. Such a sweet and loving person, we know how much you will all miss her. God Bless you and comfort you as you find the strength to get through the days ahead.

Dear Cliff, Steve, and Clifton,
Our thoughts and prayers have been with you since we heard of the tragedy that happened to Jane. I shall be eternally grateful for the day she spent with me and my Mother when we were trying to get to an explanation of her sudden severe pain and disability. Jane was such a comforting presence that day, and I've always been convinced that she sacrificed something else on her schedule when the time stretched way beyond what I had told her to anticipate.
May God's light of healing love shine upon all of you as you recover from the shock and disbelief you must be feeling.
