Barbara June Parton, 79, passed away May 13, 2010 at Taylor Hospice House surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be 1 PM Saturday at Park Avenue Christian Church with burial following at Sunset Cemetery. A visitation will be tonight from 6-8 PM at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home.
Barbara lived in Des Moines most of her life and moved to Lake of the Ozarks in 1974 with her husband, Nelson. After 10 years on the lake, Barbara and Nelson moved back to Des Moines to be closer to their family.
She is survived by her children, Mike (Cheri) Parton, Jeannine (Les) Rousseau and Bill (Vickie) Parton; 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Along with her husband, she is preceded in death by her brother, David Fritsch and parents William and June Fritsch.
Memorial contributions may be made to Park Avenue Christian Church or Taylor Hospice House.
