Dale McClurg

Dale E. McClurg, 74, of Des Moines passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. Services will be on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 12:00 PM at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th, Des Moines. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM - 12:00 Noon Saturday. Cremation will be accorded after services.

Dale was born, July 6, 1935 to Ivan and Ruth McClurg in Pickering, Missouri. He served in the US Army. He retired from Hy-Vee after 23 years as a meat cutter. Dale was a past Master of the Southgate Masonic Lodge and a member of the Hitchhiker and Wagoneers Camping Clubs. He loved to golf, bowl, and took great pride in his lovely yard. Dale loved his family dearly. On September 29, 1982 he married the love of his life, Marie Reynolds.

Dale is survived by his wife of 28 years, Marie; daughters, Piper Baker, Bettendorf, Iowa, Debbie Reynolds, Des Moines, Judy (Mike) Reynolds-Coady, Des Moines; son, Bob (Jackie) Reynolds, Swan, Iowa; sisters, Etta Mae (Fritz) Mutti, Liberty, Missouri, Karen (Paul) Tiemeyer, Rock Port, Missouri; brothers, Tom McClurg, St. Joseph, Missouri, John (Linda) McClurg, Maryville, Missouri; 11 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Cleo McClurg.
