Elizabeth "Liz" Fisher

Elizabeth “Liz” Jane Fisher, 86, died April 29, 2010 at Bright Kavanagh House. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday, May 3, 2010 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Fisher was born in Clarion, IA, Wright County and lived in Clarion and Eagle Grove before moving to Des Moines in 1969. She worked as an LPN at Mercy Medical Center and as a clerk at Gordman’s.

Mrs. Fisher is survived by sons, Robert (Rose) Voigt of Raymond, IA and Thomas (Georgeann) Voigt of Des Moines; daughters, Linda (Raymond) Thurmond of Des Moines and Mary (Duane) Halverson of New Brighton, MN; brother, John Rowen of Eagle Grove, IA; sister, Catherine Troeger of Soldotna, AK; 18 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; and many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Lavern Voigt; second husband, Albert Fisher; great-grandchildren, Jonathan Halverson and Morgan Dickinson; and her sister, Mary Rowen.
