Roxanne Van Rees, 57, passed away at her home April 20, 2010.
Roxanne was born October 31, 1952 in Des Moines. She was a lifelong Des Moines resident and graduated from Des Moines Tech. Roxanne was employed by MidAmerican Energy. She enjoyed scrapbooking and spending time with her pets. She was a beautiful sketch artist and also enjoyed photography.
Roxanne was preceded in death by her mother, Johneen Viggers Taylor and father, Robert Dean Van Rees. She is survived by her sisters, Michele Leonardi, Laura Creen, Christina Taylor and Daniele Caldwell.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 23, 2010 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A private family burial will take place at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

I am so sorry to hear about Roxy. I just found out and was unable to attend the viewing. My thoughts and prayers are with all the family. May the good Lord keep you close and comfort all of you.

I never had the privilage of meeting Roxie in person, because I work in Davenport, but through out all our years of phone calls to each other about work related things, I thought the world of her. We laughed and joked many times about "situations". I will truely miss her.
