Martin E. (Bud) Tew, Jr.

Martin E. Tew, 83, passed away Friday, April 16, 2010 from the Kavanagh House on 56th Street. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home 5400 SW 9th Street.

Martin was born March 9, 1927 in Des Moines, the son of Martin and Hilda (Moore) Tew.

Martin is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary; daughter, Sue (Todd Warming) Tew; son, John (Angel) Tew; sisters, Helen Hodson, Edra Tew and Grace Tew; grandchildren, Heather (Buck McClavy) Tew, Greg Tew, Stephanie (Brad) Tew, Dustin (Samantha) Jones, and Ashley Page; great-grandchildren Skylar, Corbin, Baden and Ayden.

Bud was a member of Glaziers Local Union 1075 for 40 years, and after just a year of retirement, became a mutual teller at Prairie Meadows for 17 more years. He loved fishing, camping and especially loved spending time with his family.

The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 19, 2010 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa - Kavanagh House in loving memory of Martin.
