Pete Smith, 38, left this life April 12, 2010 at Taylor House Hospice.
Pete was born June 25, 1971 in Des Moines. He worked as a concrete finisher. Pete enjoyed fishing, NASCAR and attending services at First Assembly of God. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Atlanta Braves fan and loved his dog Bullet. He will be remembered for his great will to live, his sense of humor, free spirit, big heart, practical jokes and ability to make people smile.
Pete is survived by his children, Crystal, Dakota and Derek; mother, Marilyn Smith; siblings, Don Faber, Debbie Rivera, Jim Smith and Sherry Smith; a host of nieces, nephews and other extended relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Faber.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 16, 2010 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, followed by burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be directed to family.

Marilyn, I'm so sorry in hearng of Pete's passing. I know it has to be hard loosing a child, but God must of had a plan for him. May my thoughts and prayers be with you and the family during this time. God bless all of you. Debbie Oliver

Pete will be dearly missed by my family. My son, Bob Johnson, Stacy Sater, Deniece Habick and Shane Lorenz. They thought a great deal of him. He's been a good friend to them from childhood thru adulthood. I know he enjoyed raiding my garden last year. Loved the tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers. He got to enjoy some of my homemade Rhubarb jelly and salsa.
We know he didn't want to go, but God must of had other plans for Pete. I wish you peace and comfort during this trying time, and my prayers and tears have been coming from my heart since hearing of Petes passing.
To be so young..I can't imagine losing one of my children. With my deepest sympathy,

I knew of Pete when I was younger and married to my first husand Tom Smith, whom lost his life in December 2009, May all be in my prayers and thoughts and I am deeply sorry for your loss! Remember the good times..
