Michelle Lynn Branchcomb, 26, died Sunday, April 11, 2010 from injuries sustained in an accident.
Michelle was born August 28, 1983 in Des Moines. She lived on the eastside of Des Moines her entire life.
Michelle is survived by her best friend, soul mate and husband, Shawn Branchcomb; the loves of her life, daughters, Katie and Haley and stepson, Shawn, Jr.; father, Thomas Whitehead; brother, Nick Whitehead; sister, Casey Curtis; grandmother, Jean Salvage; grandfather, Glenn Whitehead; and many other extended relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 16, 2010 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, followed by burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.

You don,t know me, but my son was a witness to Michelles' accident and death. He stayed at the scene and gave all information necessary to the authorites as well as going with them down to give statements.
I know I am the only person that my son told about what he did for Michelle, which was to say a very lengthy and private prayer to God for Michelle's safe passage to Heaven. He had the strength of mind to do this within moments.
Your family is in our hearts and prayers, as we have suffered the same tragic loss, although 25 years ago. I personally know exactly how Michelles' siblings are feeling, and know the grief suffered by the parents is beyond comprehension.
I hope you find this quote helpfull, it has given me comfort over the years although I don't know who wrote it.
