Marjorie E. Robison

Marjorie Evelyn Robison, 90, was born January 13, 1920 in Des Moines, the daughter of John and Rose (Crosby) Schlenker. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Iowa Health Hospice Taylor House.

Marjorie retired from Iowa State University Extension Service after 27 years of faithful service. She was an active member of the Berwick Women’s Club and the Berwick Congregational Church. Marjorie enjoyed gardening and her time spent outdoors, especially with all of nature’s animals. Above all else though, she loved her family first and foremost, always cherishing the special memories they made together.

Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Betty June Mathis; granddaughters, Deborah (Erwin) Martin and Stacy (Tyler) Soethout; great-grandsons, Adam and Benjamin Soethout; brothers, Ralph (Charlotte) Schlenker and Larry Schlenker; sister, Gladys Kirkman and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan Robison; infant son, Robert; brothers, Kenneth and James Schlenker and her parents.

Cremation has occurred and the family will greet friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th St. SW. Graveside services will immediately follow at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Greenwood Friends Cemetery in Ankeny. Memorial contributions may be made to Taylor House in loving memory of Marjorie.
