Dear Marie, Tammy, Debbie, Mary, son-in-laws and grandchildren:
I'm so glad I was able to come over yesterday and spend time with all of you. I hesitated before coming over but "a voice"(God) kept telling me to go, so I did. Even though we didn't see a lot of each other, it hit Don and I hard when we learned of Al's death. I hope I was able to comfort you a little by being there. It's hard to know what to say when something like this happens, except I'm sorry. Holding you when you broke down, Marie, was the only way I could show my sympathy and to let you know how much I care. Looking through your many scrapbooks was awesome! It's really neat to see a family who love spending time together and doing things no matter what age. As I looked through them and saw how much fun you had no matter what you were doing, I feel those scrapbooks will be a huge comfort for all of you. And what a great thing to be able to pass on to your grandchildren. And when there's great grandchildren, even though they won't be able to spend time with great grandpa they will know him intimately just by looking at all the pictures of him.
I didn't intend to ramble on but I just wanted to let you know you are in our thoughts and prayers. And if there's ANYTHING you need no matter what it is just give us a call. I have strong shoulders if you just need someone to just be there and hold you.
God bless all of you!
Love,
Don and Benita

We wonder why God takes someone that is so special and has so much to give. I guess we will never understand why. You're in our thoughts and prayers. Our heart goes out to you.

Marie and family,
Please accept my condolences for your loss. I had the privilege of working with Al at the wastewater treatment plant for over 10 years and seeing first-hand, his many talents. Al had the incredible ability to create things that were perfect for the intended use. The chlorine clamp, mentioned in the obituary, is one such example of his creations. This device protected the life, health and safety of his co-workers and is a great example of his creativity as well as his compassion for other people.
God bless you and your family
