Myra Sanders

Myra LaRose Sanders, 83, of Ankeny, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2007. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday February 26, 2007 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Visitation will begin from 9:00 a.m. until the service time. Private family burial will follow at Masonic Cemetery.
Myra was born March 26, 1923 in Webster City, Iowa to Lawrence and Mary Parr. She was a graduate of North Hill School in Des Moines. In December of 1946 she married Charles Sanders and they had two sons, Chuck and Matt.
Myra was a member of the Eastern Star, White Shrine and Daughters of the Nile. She was a past Queen of the Daughters of the Nile and Past Chairman of the Shrine Auxiliary.
Myra loved animals, especially dogs and cats and was an avid reader.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles; her brother, Larry; and sisters, Betty and Mary Lou.
Myra is survived by two sons, Chuck (Paula) of Norwalk and Matt (Phyllis) of Ankeny; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be directed to the Animal Rescue League, the Shriners Hospital for Children or Mill Pond Retirement Community.
