Ritzy Rae Link

Ritzy Rae Link, 79, went to meet the Lord, Thursday March 18, 2010. She battled leukemia with great strength and dignity.

Ritzy was born on September 19, 1930 to Clarence, “Ted”, and Helen Loy. She attended Lincoln High School and married the love of her life Robert E. Link on April 25, 1949. They raised their three children in Des Moines, Iowa.

Ritzy has been a long time member of Grace Baptist Church. She enjoyed the simple things in life, exercise, a sparkling clean house, fashion and her poodle Sophie. She was a huge animal lover, extremely compassionate, non-judgmental and had many friends.

Survivors are her husband of 61 years, Robert E. Link; a son, Robert Randy (Sherryl) Link, and family Shannon and Ashlee; daughters, Barbara Farrell, and family, Angela (John) Fisher and Jack, Johnny Farrell, and Alexis Farrell; Nancy (Mike) Burns, and family, Brandon (Heather) Burns and Boston Burns, Austin Burns, and Blaire Burns; and sister, Myrna Meadows.

Ritzy is preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a grandson, Harold Workman Burns II.

Many thanks go out to each and every person that helped our family in our time of need.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 22, 2010, 2 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home with burial at Avon Cemetery, Avon Lake, Iowa. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service, starting at 12 p.m. The family would like to extend an invitation of a gathering at Grace Baptist Church following services.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League.
