Alice Coffin

Alice Coffin, 87, died Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at the Mitchell Village Care Center. She was born May 23, 1922 in Ridgefield, New Jersey to Maude Jackson and Ralph Williamson.

She enjoyed dancing, taking walks and cooking Sunday dinners for her family. Alice especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Steven (Deb) Coffin; daughters, Jane (Russ) Beebe and Sharyn (Jim) Ethington; 12 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Lyle Coffin.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines. Burial will follow at Panther Creek Cemetery in Adel, Iowa. A visitation with the family present will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, March 19, 2010 at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Mitchell Village Care Center or Iowa Hospice in loving memory of Alice.
