Sharon J. Young

Sharon Young, 69, passed away March 17, 2010 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center after fighting a long, courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 22, 2010 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, with burial at Glendale Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Sharon was born March 9, 1941 in Des Moines to Martha and Floyd Morse. She loved gardening, country music, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Sharon is survived by her daughter, Robin (Terry) Carter; grandchildren, Terry Jr., Tyler, Kayla; sister, Ida May Yeadon (Merle); brother, Bob (Linda) Morse; nephew, Bobby (Karie) Morse; nieces, Jeannie Ritter and Robin Morse; great-nephews, Bobby, James, and Brandon; great-nieces, Nikki, Megan, Ashley, Stephanie, Tiffany “JoJo,” and Jessie; great-great-nephew, Jeremiah; aunt, Madeline Bexell; and many loving friends, including her best friend, Hazel Smith (“Sug”). She was preceded in death by her mother, Martha Hesser; father, Floyd (Bertha) Morse; brother, William Morse; and grandparents, James and Ida Welch, and Charles and Lillian Morse.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Animal Rescue League in loving memory of Sharon.
