Frank Issac McKim, 62, was born April 6, 1947 in Emmetsburg, Iowa to Leta Heathman and Fred McKim, Sr. He passed away Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at the Veterans Medical Center in Des Moines.
Frank is survived by his wife, Kathleen A. McKim; daughter, Michelle Ann (Christopher) Bennett; sons, Lt. Col. Scott Michael (Lisa) McKim D.O. and Matthew John (Tina Marshall) McKim; three grandchildren, Anna Elizabeth Williams, Maxwell Issac McKim and Madeline Ann McKim; two sisters, one brother and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held 1:00 p.m., Sunday, March 21, 2010 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave, Des Moines.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Veterans Medical Center in Des Moines in loving memory of Frank.

You probably don"t remember me but your daughter Michelle and my daughter Sheila both made their first comunion together in Humboldt. My husband was Cletus Rosendahl. Anyway, that day the sermon was about the prodical son and it seemed a little appropriate because of Frank, Cletus, and Sal Odenbrett were all there. They all had something in common. They lived life to the fullest! I am so sorry for your loss. Just know you are in my thoughts and prayers at this time.

I am Clark Anliker's wife and we are friends of Matt and Tina's. Although I didn't really know Frank, I do have a wonderful memory that I'd like to share. It was 2006 and Clark and I had just gotten engaged. We were at the airport, coming back from a trip to Puerto Rico celebrating our engagement and visiting our friend Rob. We ran into Frank, who was working and was so happy to see us - he was genuinely excited about our engagement. The smile on his face and telling Clark "how did he pull off getting a woman like me and then getting me to say yes" was priceless. Alhough Frank teased and bantered with Clark whenever they saw each other, Clark thought a lot of him.
My heart, condolences and prayers go to each of you, as I know how hard it is to lose someone after a long and tough illness. Please know the love of your friends and family is always there and will help you through this very challenging time.

I remember what a wonderful couple you two were
and how much fun you had.
