Service Details
Bill Smith, 80, passed away at his home on Sunday, March 14, 2010. Funeral services will be 12 PM Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home with burial following at Sunset Cemetery. A visitation will be Thursday beginning at 10:30 AM at the funeral home.
Bill was a Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict and retired as a 30 year member of the Teamsters; and continued working at RR Donnelly for 10 years after retirement. Bill gave his life to God and enjoyed all that was given to him. He loved camping traveling, cooking and following the Cubs and Hawks.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Bertha; children, Steve (Twyla) Smith, Debbie (Gene) Marchant and Rusty Smith; sister, Vernie Wood; 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of Bill.

Bertha,
Just wanted to say how sorry I am for your loss, Bill was a great man whom I respected very much. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all in this sad time. I will encourage Alisha to come spend as much time with you as possible to hopefully bring some happiness back into your life. She adored her grandpa more than anyone in the world besides you her grandma.
I am so sorry that you are going through this, but please know that the lord is with you and you have many loved ones that care deeply. Lean on god and lean on your family. Peace be with you Bertha!!
