Sherry Lee Larson, 77, passed away March 3, 2010 at St. John’s Hospital in Joplin, MO. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 pm Friday at Glendale Cemetery. No visitation is planned.

Sherry was born September 6, 1932. She graduated from East High School. Sherry married Carl Larson in 1950 after high school prior to his joining the Air Force during the Korean War. During his service in the Air Force they moved to Texas and then to Phoenix. Their two children were born during that time. They moved to Ames, Iowa after his military service for Carl to attend Iowa State University. After his graduation they moved to Rockford, Illinois, for a short period and then back to Ames, Iowa, due to Carl’s career pursuit. Sherry and family moved to Denver in 1969 after Carl was promoted, and then moved again in the late 70’s to Overland Park, Kansas. In 1989 she moved with her husband to Joplin, Missouri, where they started a water well construction company. Sherry was the office manager for the fledging company until Carl’s death in 1989. After Carl’s death she remained in Joplin.

Sherry was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She had been a member of Eastgate Chapter of the Eastern Star. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, in Joplin.

Sherry is survived by her children, Cynthia (Michael) Barringer of Denver, Christopher (Michelle) Larson of Mission Hills, Kansas; her grandchildren, Matthew Barrigner of Denver, Colorado, and Jaclyn Larson of Mission Hills, Kansas; two great grandchildren; and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Lung Association.
