Service Details
Caleb Stephen Vilmain, 27, passed away March 3, 2010. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Christ the King Catholic Church. A visitation will be from 5-7 PM Friday at Hamilton’s on Lyon Street, followed by a Rosary at 7 PM.
Caleb attended Holy Trinity and Roosevelt High School. He was a chef and in addition to Des Moines, he had lived in New Mexico, Arizona and St. Paul, Minnesota.
Caleb is survived by his children, whom he adored, Christian and Olivia Vilmain and their mother, April Anspach and Blake Vilmain and her mother, Sara Fellenz; mother, Dawn Martino; father, Steve (Shannon) Vilmain; grandparents, Donald and Vivian Martino; grandmother, Ruth Vilmain; friend, Ashley Stapp; aunts and uncles, Jeff and John Martino; Suzy (Steve Smith) Vilmain, Jeanie Vilmain, Mike Vilmain, Judy (David Barrett) Vilmain, Teresa Vilmain, James Vilmain and David Vilmain. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Frank Vilmain.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family for a scholarship fund for Caleb’s children.

I knew Caleb from the Sober House but he did more than just help me stay sober. He was a big brother for me and always had my back. He was a very loyal friend and always knew when to push you and how to motivate you to do the right thing. He always talked about his daughter and I just can not believe it has been a year. I knew more about caleb than I am sre a lot of people know and I am so grateful to have known such an amazing dude as he was. I think about him everyday and he's always in my prayers, along with his family. I love you C-Note. I know you probably won't read a post I put on the internet man but you're missed down here. Look out for me. Much love. An I'm listening to forever right now for you....good times man

Caleb you are a amazing person, prolllly one of the most amazing people i have ever met, everyday with you having a cig, or getting little ceasers, or just driving around jammin....was so much fun, i will always miss your smile,a nd your happiness....and everything about you. we had alot of fun when we were together always, you know that you never let me down. i do miss texting you all the time the funniest things. ill miss your voice so much, i wish you were still here to fight your battle, but you are in a better place, illl continue to talk to you every night before i go to bed, and i will pray for your family as well. i love you, rest in peace babe. -megan ( aka - selena gomez lookin ass ;] )

We learned this morning here at Johnston City Hall that your son Caleb passed away last week.
Words don't express it. We are so very sorry. As parents, none of us ever expect to live longer than our children. The pain of this loss would be overwhelming.
Please remember to take good care of yourself, and each other.

Dawn, this message I send to you first of all. My heart hurts for you so much as a mother to have to say goodbye to your child. I did not realize until today that Caleb is your son. My son, Jack, called me wed. eve. and told me, yet still at that point, I had not put 2 and 2 together. They new each other from Roosevelt. My prayers are with you and your families. I always enjoy seeing your beautiful face and smile and conversation at the grocery store. I hope to give you the biggest hug ever, soon. Caleb was one of the most amazing people I have every met, and I wouldnt trade him for the world. He was a very giving and loyal freind, He will be missed dearly.
