Raymond Manson

Raymond Manson, 93, died October 30, 2006 at Mercy Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 2, 2006 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. with burial at Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
Raymond was born July 14, 1913 to Edward and Aola Manson in Marion, Iowa. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1939 to 1946. Raymond worked for NAPA for five years and for the Des Moines Public Schools for 24 years before his retirement in 1978. He was a member of Clifton Heights Presbyterian Church, a 50 year Mason, a 70 year Senior Demolay-Legion of Honor and Chapter 89 Eastern Star.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Gertrude; son, David (Jackie) Manson; daughter, Barbara (Steve) Gordon; brother, Lyle Manson; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
