Jasper (Jap) Miller, Jr., 81, died Sunday, February 28, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. He was born March 18, 1928 in Keokuk, Iowa to Lottie (Walker) and Jasper Miller, Sr.
He enjoyed traveling and most of all, being with his family. Jasper served two years in the U.S. Navy and was retired from the Des Moines office of H.U.D.
Jasper is survived by his wife of 59 years, Barbara; daughters, Jackie (Dan Perrine) Blanchard and Jody (Dennis) Britton; four grandchildren, Troy Britton, Tiffany (Josh) Greene, Steven Blanchard, and Nicholas Blanchard; and his brother, Jack (Coral) Miller of San Diego, California.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jasper and Lottie.
Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave, Des Moines. A visitation with the family present will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association in loving memory of Jasper.

Dear Barb, Jodi, Jackie & familys,
Jasper was a very unique man & had a way of
making one feel special & important, his stories
were always fun to hear & amusing. He was dear
to all of us!
You will miss him; dwell on all your fond & happy
memories. I try to do that every day with Don, your

We are sorry to hear of Japs passing. He was a very caring and special person.
He touched many hearts.... We're blessed that he touched ours. I'll never forge
the funny jokes he'd tell when he was down visiting his mother, Lottie.
