Eugene Stanley

Eugene Stanley, 72 of Bondurant, passed from this world into the next on Sunday, February 18, 2007. He was born in Dundee, Il on January 10, 1935 to Foster D. Stanley and Clara W. (Dyson) Stanley. He lived in Illinois, Batesville, Arkansas and Tulsa, Oklahoma before moving to Mingo, Iowa in 1955.
On November 25, 1956 Eugene was united in marriage to Marlene Herman at Cory Grove Church in Elkhart, Iowa. During his life he had worked as a painter and refinisher, taking pride in his trade and striving for perfection. He was also a member of the Labor Union Local 177, working in various locations around Iowa in the years prior. He had also worked with his dad in younger years in commercial fishing in Arkansas. His love for fishing and the outdoors continued through out his life
He is survived by his wife, Marlene (Herman) Stanley of Bondurant, a daughter, Diane (Ted) Schulze of Mingo, Iowa, grand daughter, Rae Jeanna (Jason) Helm of Nevada, Iowa, brother-in-law, Kenneth (Bernice) Herman of Cambridge, Iowa, sisters, Margaret Watts of Knoxville, Iowa, and Mary Bingham of Grants, New Mexico and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clara (Dyson) Stanley and Foster D. Stanley and a sister, Betty Altes.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Thursday February 22, 2007, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Elkhart Cemetery.
