Esther Howell

Esther E. Howell, 88, was born August 20, 1921 in Rhodes, Iowa to Charley and Pearl (Ackelson) Rankin. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at Mitchell Village Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Berean Assembly of God Church, 5299 E. University Avenue in Pleasant Hill, with burial to follow at Franklin Township Cemetery.

Esther is survived by her children, Jerry Howell, Steve (Debi) Howell, Randy (LuAnne) Howell and Susan (Steve) Greenhorn; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kelly; daughter, Judith; grandson, Kyle; daughter-in-law, Opal and her parents.

The family will greet friends Saturday at the church one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League in loving memory of Esther. Hamilton’s Funeral Home is handling services.
