Dear Jerry and family - my heart is saddened to hear of Ellis's passing. My own father George passed away Tuesday of last week in Canada. I share your feelings of grief at this time. We will be having my Dad's service in Canada March 11th when all the family can get there.
I had the privilege of being Jerry and Ellis's pastor at Altoona Christian from 2002-2005. I remember those times with fondness.
Ellis was a kind and compassionate Christian man who loved his Lord with all his heart and it showed in his actions and lifestyle. He loved all of you as his wife and family and he beamed whenever he spoke of you. I always appreciated his loving support of me as a Pastor and his words of encouragement and love.
I remember our visits Jerry and our times of sharing through good moments and difficult ones as well. Please know you are all in my thoughts and prayers as you say goodbye tomorrow and begin to face life without his physical presence with you. I know the strong and meaningful memories you have of Ellis combined with your faith in the God who is stronger than death will sustain you and keep you through this time. Take care of yourselves and one another.
God's love and peace. Wendy Miles
