Jon Cirksena

Jon “Omar” Cirksena, 66, was born October 30, 1940 in Bedford, IA to Hank and Mozel Cirksena. He died peacefully at his home, February 18, 2007. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 22, 2007 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Jon was a Navy Veteran and a graduate of Drake University. He was an artist and had taught at DMACC. Jon also had his own auto body repair and paint business before retiring as a painter.
Jon is survived by his four children, J.B. (Rhonda) Johnson of Waukee, Scott (Julie) Cirksena of Clive, Jason Cirksena of Jacksonville, FL and Suzanne (Randy) Brittson of Miami, FL; five grandchildren; two brothers, David of Des Moines and Jim (Beverly) of Johnston. He was preceded in death by his parents.
