David Gutzman

David Wayne Gutzman, 53, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2007. Memorial services will be at 2pm Wednesday, February 21 at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 3820 SW 9th St.
Dave was born August 18, 1953 in St. Paul, Minnesota, the son of Floyd and Ruth (Going) Gutzman. He graduated from Drake University and spent most of his career at Wellmark. Dave was a member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, and was active in the Big Brothers-Big Sisters Program and the Lupus Foundation.
He was a loving husband, father, son, brother and uncle. He cherished all of the special times spent with his daughters, and will be missed by everyone who knew him.
Dave is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Belieu; daughters, Laura (Brock Beekmann) Belieu, Jenny (Brian) Belieu-Higgins, and Holly Belieu; parents, Floyd and Ruth Gutzman; siblings, Donald (Val) Gutzman and their daughter, Tina; Lynnette (Dan) Gutzman-Donahue and their children, Christopher, Danielle and Ryan; Marilyn Lodoen; Suzanne (Kent) Vincent and their daughter, Melissa; Ken (Debra) Gutzman and their son, Matt; Kathy (Marc) Mahowald and their children, Matt, Nathan and Nolan; and two nephews, Mike and Michael. He was preceded in death by his brother, Brian Gutzman.
The family will greet friends from 5-8pm Tuesday, February 20 at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to either Big Brothers-Big Sisters of Central Iowa or the Lupus Foundation of America Inc. Iowa Chapter. Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
