Mike Hudson

Mike Hudson, 78, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2010, at Taylor House Hospice. He was born on October 1, 1931, to Oral and Nellie Hudson of Herndon, and resided on the east side of Des Moines.

He enjoyed carpentry, fishing, gardening, travel, sharing his life experiences, and spending time with his grandchildren.

He will be missed by his sons, Bob (Kathy) of Des Moines, Larry (Karen) of DeSoto, Texas; his daughter-in-law, Sheila Hudson of Pleasant Hill; former daughter-in-law Denise Hudson of West Des Moines; eight grandchildren, Laura, Aimee, Sarah, Ryan, Shawn, Kirk, Cassandra and Megan; one great grandchild, Madelynn; brother, Jerry (Mary), nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Mary; by his parents; his brother, Pat; his sister, Velda; son, Rick and grand daughter, Amber.

Visitation will be held Sunday, February 21, 2010 from 4 to 6 p.m., and a memorial service on Monday, February 22, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Hamilton’s near Highland Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave, Des Moines, Iowa. There will be a private family placement of Mike’s remains at a later date.
