Mark Bellis

Mark Ernest Bellis, 58, of South Pasadena, Florida passed away unexpectedly at his home February 17, 2010. Mark was born in Des Moines, Iowa to Robert and Mildred Bellis. He moved with his parents to Kansas City and later to Joplin, Missouri at the age of 10. He attended Missouri Southern College and graduated from Pittsburg State University in Kansas and moved to the St. Petersburg/Tampa area shortly after college.

He worked at St. Petersburg General Hospital as a staff technologist. Previous employment included work at Eclipsys (Sysware), and the Blood Bank at Palms of Pasadena and Northside Hospital.

Mark was an avid fan of the Tampa Rays and enjoyed Florida sports teams. He enjoyed traveling and photography.

He will be missed by many friends and family members. He was preceded in death by his father Robert. He is survived by his mother, Mildred; brother, Larry (Joan) Bellis; nieces, Susan Bellis, Cathy (Dave) Cardwell and Patty (Paul) Glaser; nephew, Dave (Natalie) Bellis; plus many great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, aunts and an uncle.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, February 26, 2010 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, followed by burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
