Mary Jane Strait, 87, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at Manor Care in West Des Moines. Mary lived in Des Moines all of her life and had retired from Farm Bureau after numerous years of service.
Mary is survived by one son, Steve Strait of Des Moines; one daughter, Sharon (Steve) Airhart of Des Moines; five grandchildren, Randy, Russ, Casey, Megan and Charlie; six great-grandchildren, Brandon, Tyler, Ashley, Jackson, Alissa and Leah and one sister, Kay Folkers of Des Moines. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Strait.
The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, February 18, 2010 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa in loving memory of Mary.

I am sure that you are the Steve Strait that I knew so long ago and I want to send you my deepest condolences for the loss of your mother. It isn't an easy time for you, I am sure, and I wish you and your family peace in the days ahead.
