Service Details
Richelle “Shelley” Barlow, 41, went to be with her Lord and Saviour February 11, 2010 at Taylor House Hospice after a 3½-year courageous battle with breast cancer. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home. Burial will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Iowa Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday with the family present from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Shelley was born October 31, 1968 in Des Moines to Dale and Sharon (Duckworth) Thompson. She loved her job as an assistant DON/LPN at the Carlisle Care Center and was very dedicated to her nursing career.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Ken; children, Amber Lee, Justin (Trisha Johnston) Lee, Kaytee Lee, Katherine Barlow and Stephani Barlow; grandchildren, Joshua and Harleigh; her parents; siblings, Dottie Thompson, Randy (Diane) Thompson and Tammy (David) Ewing; nieces, Ashley, Meghan and Nova; nephews, Brandon, Adam, Chad and Nathan; three great-nieces; a great-nephew; and a host of other extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
Shelley will be remembered as an inspiration to all.

Sharon, Dale, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I will make every attempt to come to Shellly's service. I volunteer at Capitol View Elementary School on Tuesday - Thursday's, but I am more than sure that I can attend. My prayer's are with you both and your family. May the peace of God be with you all and may God Bless you.

Kenny, I wish that we could be there with all of you. Shelley was a wonderful person and I am glad that you 2 found each other. I will forever be grateful for the happiness that she gave you. Much love to you and all of the kids and her family. Call if you need anything or just to talk.
