Betty Porter

Betty D. Porter, 85, passed away January 27, 2010. Per her request, her body has been cremated and no services are planned.

Mrs. Porter was born August 17, 1924 in Ambler, PA to Raymond and Ethel Jackson Dikeman. She received her Masters degree in Music from Drake University. She was a homemaker, was active in the community and became a realtor with Iowa Realty. She enjoyed gardening, golf, tennis, bowling, playing bridge, was an accomplished watercolor painter and always enjoyed being with family.

Mrs. Porter is survived by her children, D. Ross Porter of Brussells, Belgium, Craig Porter of Watkins, CO, Marcia Geiger of Roosevelt, NJ, Candy (John) Henely of Norwalk, and Jeff Porter of West Des Moines, three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
