Joyce Hayes

Joyce Hayes, 82, died Saturday, January 23, 2010 at her home. She was born November 1, 1927 in Akron, Ohio to Lee and Pauline Koury.

She enjoyed being with family and friends, traveling and collecting kaleidoscopes.

Joyce is survived by a beloved companion Donald Townsley; best friend Kathy Johnson; Sister Maxine Zappey; brothers Lee Koury Jr. and Kenneth Koury.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Madeline Zappey and Corrine Carroll.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, January 28, 2010 at Pine Hill Cemetery, 524 NW 54th, Des Moines. A visitation with the family present will be one hour prior to the service, Thursday, January 28, 2010 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60 Avenue, Des Moines.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s Hospital in loving memory of Joyce.
